111 Street Water Services Infrastructure Upgrades

  • Location Edmonton, Alberta
  • Description

GS Construction successfully delivered four watermain construction projects along 111 Street in Edmonton on behalf of EPCOR Water Services. The work was completed in close proximity to Blackmud Creek, an environmentally sensitive area, and within a heavily trafficked urban corridor. Despite challenging winter conditions, complex utility coordination, and stringent traffic requirements, all projects were executed safely and efficiently with minimal impact to the public and surrounding environment.

    Hydrovac Investigation

The program began with a Hydrovac Investigation to locate existing utilities and support project planning and design. Work was carried out during off-peak hours, with traffic accommodation measures in place to maintain safe and continuous flow along 111 Street.

    • Completed between February and March 2024
    • 52 core holes drilled, with utilities exposed at each location
    • Traffic accommodation plans implemented during off-peak hours to maintain traffic flow along 111 Street
